Saturday High Street Stall
Following our success the previous night at the Victorian Evening, organised by the Uttoxeter Knights, we were invited to have a small stall in Uttoxeter High Street as it was the first Saturday in December before Christmas.
We were fortunate that many of the previous evenings stall holders donated their unsold gifts to us which meant we had a very full stall. Although it rained of most of the time, the generosity of the people out shopping meant we raised almost as much as the previous evening!
Our helpers had made reindeer food Christmas jam and marmalade and the WI had made fabulous Christmas tree decorations, all of which were sold out!
Our next fund raising event is Uttoxeter Cracker night … looking forward to seeing all of our supporters at that event too …
Our Stall at the Uttoxeter Knights Victorian Evening
Uttoxeter Gateway Club staff and helpers were out fundraising and supporting the Uttoxeter Knights Victorian Evening.
Our stall selling raffle tickets was a huge success as we had many wonderful gifts donated. The stall was located right outside the Town Hall, in full view of Santa’s Reindeer and the snow machine. We attracted lots of attention, especially as just after the town Christmas lights were turned when our super size cuddly toy of Eeyore the donkey from Winnie the Pooh was won by a very grateful local who rushed off to see if Santa could wrap it in time for Christmas!
The weather was kind this year and, from the amount of raffle tickets we sold, well supported by the local community.
Special Gateway Club Museum Visit
Last night we went to The Beamhurst Museum, just out of Uttoxeter on the Cheadle road. The Museum is run by John and Laura Walton and their daughter Beth and they opened up especially for us.
It’s like Aladdin’s cave, full of memories for us older folk and fascinating things for our younger members.
The cake was great too, so thanks to all of you for a fun evening and an even greater thanks for the very kind donation you made to our club

Uttoxeter Gateway Club Meal out at The Indian Spice
Last night about 40 staff and members from the Uttoxeter Gateway Club enjoyed a meal at The Indian Spice restaurant in Uttoxeter.
Nazz and the other staff at The Indian Spice were fantastic, they looked after us so well.
The food was good and for many it was a brand new culinary experience!
The Uttoxeter Gateway Club recommends the The Indian Spice restaurant and there’s 25% off if you go on a Sunday or a Thursday night at the moment.

Uttoxeter Gateway Club Trip to Hull – UK City of Culture 2017
An early start as our coach left Uttoxeter at 8am!
The first stop we made was to visit The DEEP Sea World in Hull.
We had our packed lunch before returning to the coach.
After travelling back over the Humber Bridge, we stopped at Cleethorpes for a couple of hours.
The sun came out, some had a paddle in the sea, others enjoyed some of amusements on the sea front.
We had a fantastic day at Lark in the Park last Saturday
