Tombola, crafts and cakes
We had a stall on the Makers Market last Saturday with a tombola, crafts and cakes.
Thanks to great support on the day, we made £226.00. This means we have reached our target for Xmas Fund raising and made a total over £1000.00 for Uttoxeter Gateway Club activities.
Thank to Julia, Faye and Sue for baking cakes and Paul and our member David Nadin for helping run the stall.
Gateway Club Christmas Cracker Stall
We had a tombola stall in the Town Hall at the Uttoxeter Christmas Cracker this year. The star of our stall was a giant Santa which we asked people to make their best offers for – we’ll announce our decision at the Makers Market on Saturday where we’ll have another Tombola!
Thanks to our helpers on Xmas Cracker night; Paul, Dale in the turkey outfit, and members David Nadin & Heidi.
Thanks to everyone who helped us raise £200 on the night.
Alan Parker hands over a cheque for £400
The Uttoxeter and District Football League, represented by Alan Parker, Fixture/Referee Secretary donated a cheque to Paul Nixon, Chairman of the Trustees and Pauline Wilson, Club Leader for £400.00. We’re very grateful to receive the donation from the Uttoxeter and District Football League who have chosen our Club to support for this year.
We got to decorate a tree at Waitrose for Christmas
As Uttoxeter Gateway Club are recipients of donations from Waitrose we were invited to dress one of the xmas trees that Waitrose will be displaying up to Christmas. What a honour for the Club!

Waitrose Delivers Presents to Santa
Waitrose have been extremely generous this year and have donated Christmas presents to all our members which Santa will be giving out at our Christmas dinner on 19th December… more about this later…
Saturday High Street Stall
Following our success the previous night at the Victorian Evening, organised by the Uttoxeter Knights, we were invited to have a small stall in Uttoxeter High Street as it was the first Saturday in December before Christmas.
We were fortunate that many of the previous evenings stall holders donated their unsold gifts to us which meant we had a very full stall. Although it rained of most of the time, the generosity of the people out shopping meant we raised almost as much as the previous evening!
Our helpers had made reindeer food Christmas jam and marmalade and the WI had made fabulous Christmas tree decorations, all of which were sold out!
Our next fund raising event is Uttoxeter Cracker night … looking forward to seeing all of our supporters at that event too …
Our Stall at the Uttoxeter Knights Victorian Evening
Uttoxeter Gateway Club staff and helpers were out fundraising and supporting the Uttoxeter Knights Victorian Evening.
Our stall selling raffle tickets was a huge success as we had many wonderful gifts donated. The stall was located right outside the Town Hall, in full view of Santa’s Reindeer and the snow machine. We attracted lots of attention, especially as just after the town Christmas lights were turned when our super size cuddly toy of Eeyore the donkey from Winnie the Pooh was won by a very grateful local who rushed off to see if Santa could wrap it in time for Christmas!
The weather was kind this year and, from the amount of raffle tickets we sold, well supported by the local community.
