Lark in the Park 2017The second event is the annual Lark in the Park event on the 26th August.  We’ll have a stall and have just started our appeal for tombola items.  So if you have any unwanted items you would like to donate to a great cause, please contact Pauline on 07929 300453

Uttoxeter Gateway Club Summer Ball

Uttoxeter Gateway Club Summer Ball

Last Tuesday evening, we had the Uttoxeter Gateway Club Summer Ball.

Our Chairman, Paul Nixon, did the Disco and in the interval we served strawberry cream scones – yum!

Last years Mayor, Alan Noyes, paid us a visit and presented us with a cheque for £1000. Last year the Uttoxeter Gateway Club was one of his chosen charities.

An Evening at the Races

An Evening at the Races

The Uttoxeter Gateway Club members enjoyed an evening at the Races

Our thanks to Phil Cooper and the staff at the racecourse for providing us with the tickets.

It was unfortunate that we had continual rain that day but we didn’t let it spoil our enjoyment. Everyone was asked to bring a picnic on the day and, fortunately, the marquee had been conveniently left up, so we remained dry throughout.

Each member was able to chose their own horse for the Race and we collected 20p bets from each of them.

Strangely, no one came away from the race rich!

American Independence Day Celebration at the Club

American Independence Day Celebration at the Club

To celebrate American Independence Day the Uttoxeter Gateway Club had a Country & Western Disco

The DJ providing the music was Paul Dixon. Some of the club members dressed up with Cowboy Hats, Check Shirts and Jeans.

A big thanks goes to Tesco for providing the food – Hot Dogs and Doughnuts – and the Tesco Community Service officer.

Sue Brown prepared the food and served it. We had a really good turn out, catering for 48 people.

Thank y’all for coming!
